In Minsk they get down to the realization of another scale construction project – soon in the Belarusian capital (in the area of Kalvariiskaya, Skryganova and Biryuzova streets) on the territory of 16 hectares the community “Kaskad” will appear. The building will include not only 125 thousand square meters of accommodation but also infrastructure – social, transport, trade, sports and educational ones that will meet modern requirements.

In the residential area 5 houses with 5 to 25 stores are planned to be built. In the centre it is stipulated to place a kindergarten with 230 paces. The public area will include office and trade complex with the public catering enterprises, entertaining and sports and health-improving objects.

It is a foreign industrial and trade private enterprise Univest-M, the branch of Russian company Rosneft, that will invest in the project 350$ million. The commissioning of the first house is planned for the fourth quarter of 2009. Completely the community will be put in commission in 2015. As director-general of the company Vladimir Zdobnov said the investments of the Univest-M enterprise in republican and municipal budgets have already made up about 39$ mln for the territory development and the preparation of the construction site in particular the removing of a range of outdated objects (autopark № 2 and other).

In the Kaskad complex everything will be provided for comfort living of its residents – the concept of the project is based on three terms: ecology, comfort and safety. In particular on the half of the territory trees and shrubs will be bedded out and video surveillances systems will be installed.

In his turn the chairman of the Minsk city executive committee on architecture and town building, the chief architect of the capital, Victor Nikitin pointed out that this project solves a big town building problem in the capital. “Unfortunately the territory of Minsk is small and for mass quarter construction it is not enough that is why we have to pull down. “Univest-M is the first investor that risked pulling down in the centre of the capital”, - pointed out the chief architect of the city.
