Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to Visit Belarus on September 25th

On September 25th Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will pay a Primatial visit to the Republic of Belarus. During his visit that will last till September 28th Patriarch will be offered an eventful programme which is planned by Belarusian exarch.

On arrival at the National Airport “Minsk” Patriarch will address himself to the representatives of mass media with a welcoming speech. In Minsk Kirill will visit the Holy Spirit Cathedral where he will bow down before the Icon of the Mother of God and the relics of Saint Pious Sofia of Slutsk. Moreover, Patriarch is planning to see Spiritual-Educational Centre of Belarusian Orthodox Church personally.

On September 25th in honor of the arrival of Holy Patriarch there will take place a state concert in the Palace of the Republic, a meeting with scientific and creative intellectuals as well as representatives of church and secular communities.

On September 26th Patriarch will visit Minsk diocesan administration of Belarusian Orthodox Church as well as St. Cyril and Methodius Institute of Theology under Belarus State University. The key item on Patriarch’s agenda will become the rite of Exaltation of the Cross in the Holy-Cross-Exaltation Cathedral at the Monastery of Our Saviour and St. Euphrosyne in Polotsk. He will also visit the Cathedral of St. Sophia and the Church of Our Saviour and Transfiguration with frescos which date back to the 12th century.

On September 28th Patriarch will meet students and young people at Summer Amphitheatre in Vitebsk. After sanctifying the first stone at the place of reconstruction of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Holy Patriarch will leave for Moscow from Vitebsk airport.
