The Ambassador pointed out the broad opportunities for transportation of Kazakh oil to Belarusian oil processing plants that were opened right after creation of Customs union. He added that earlier it was the high prices that created obstacles. Now new perspectives for oil supply to Belarusian oil processing plants, its processing and transportation to EU are being opened”.

The diplomat expressed the opinion that “this year the problem must be solved”.

Anatoli Smirnov reminded that Belarusian and Kazakh negotiations on the issue of oil delivery were held on the level of prime ministers and presidents of the both countries. “Nobody rejects this idea”, - he underlined. In Kazakhstan there are about 70 million tons of oil produced a year, at the same time the home consumption is at the level of 10 million tons. That is why according to the diplomat Kazakhstan is ready to deliver oil to Belarusian oil processing plants in any volumes. According to him it is also possible to consider the issue of deliveries of oil processing products from Belarus to Kazakhstan.
