The cooperative crew of Russia and Belarus has successfully finished the Antarctica expedition. The airplane IL-76 of “Trasaviaexport” airline together with the explorers aboard landed in the National airport Minsk-2 on March, 15th, 2008. That was reported to the soyuz.by correspondent in the Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus.

The cooperative Belarusian and Russian exploration of the arctic continent took place for the first time. During four months four Belarusian pilots led by Vadim Ryzhkov, the head of the technical crew, provided the flying part of the exploration. The aircraft commander was Honored Test Pilot, Hero of Russia – Ruben Esayan.

It must be pointed out that as the exploratory base was located in Africa the brave pilots almost every day had to subdue the ocean that took many hours of responsible flight.

In connection with the successful accomplishment of the long expedition the aircraft commander Ruben Esayan, Belarusian pilots and the head of the “Transaviaexport” airline will meet with the members of the media in the National Airport Minsk-2 on the day of the return. They will share with the results of the coperative exploration of the arctic continent and tell about the difficulties and the risks of the work under the severe conditions of Antarctica. The start of the press-conference is at 14:00.
