G.Bolbatovsky: “More and more Russians prefer spending their holidays at Belarusian health resorts”

As is reported by Gennady Bolbatovsky, Deputy Director of the National Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-and-Spa Treatment, the number of Russians who spent their holidays at Belarusian health resorts has considerably increased.

As is reported by Gennady Bolbatovsky, Deputy Director of the National Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-and-Spa Treatment, the number of Russians who spent their holidays at Belarusian health resorts has considerably increased.

According to him, in Belarus there are 101 sanatorium-and-spa institutions and 82 health improving organizations which can accommodate 35 thousand people. For the recent nine months 742 thousand people including 456 thousand children have had their vacation and restored their health at Belarusian health resorts.

Deputy Director of the National Centre noted that the previous year 21 thousand foreign citizens had spent their holidays at the health resorts in Belarus while that year the number had increased to 60 thousand. Approximately 80% of them are Russians. This year the citizens of the near and the far abroad have been sold the vouchers and services to the sum of nearly 30 million dollars which is twice as much as compared with the same period of the year 2007.

“The increase in the number of foreigners who come to Belarus for their holidays testifies to better comfort conditions at Belarusian health resorts,” said Gennady Bolbatovsky. “Belarusian sanatorium-and-spa institutions are attractive since they have unique natural therapeutic factors and medical facilities. Moreover, the price of a voucher is reasonable indeed.”

According to him the cost of services provided at Belarusian health resorts is approximately 20% less as compared with similar Russian sanatorium-and-spa institutions. An average price of a voucher for an adult makes up Br850 thousand. Foreign citizens pay for a voucher one and a half times more than Belarusians.

“In the near future up to 15% of beds at Belarusian sanatorium-and-spa institutions is planned to be offered to foreign citizens,” said Gennady Bolbatovsky.
