Social project “Get Back to Roots" is unique for Belarus. It is the first inter-sector initiative in the field of social marketing. It unites enterprises of all forms of ownership in order to preserve natural, cultural and historical heritage of Belarus.

The first initiative of the project “Get Back to Roots" was a joint volunteer environmental inspection “Fly Up High” carried out by the country’s marketing specialists and public organization “Protection of Homeland Birds”. Employees of more than thirty organizations were cleaning the territory of the sanctuary to be “Falcon”. It is there that the nesting sites of the Red Book kestrel have been found.

As part of the initiative, from 21st to 31st October there will be organized a charity exhibition “Corporate Social Responsibility in Belarus”. It is also planned that volunteers and mass media will take an active part in social promotion.

The project “Get Back to Roots" makes it possible to build bridges between the state, public organizations and businesses. It also promotes corporate social responsibility among entrepreneurs. Thanks to the absence of time frames, businessmen interested in this project can join in at any time.

Thanks to information support, the people will be able to learn more about the unique environmental attractions of the country, about cultural and historical heritage. This, in its turn, will further internal and incoming eco- and rural tourism, and will help to create internal and external brands of Belarus.

The initiator and first business partner was “Babushkina Krynka”. Thanks to its support the budget of “Get Back to Roots" amounted to more than BR51 million. 20 million was allocated for volunteer missions and other public events. The remaining amount will go for designing a website, shooting videos, banners, outdoor advertising and Fly Cards.

The initiators are Local Network of UN Global Compact, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, headquarters of the national contest “Brand of the Year”, National Historical Museum of the Republic of Belarus, public organization “Protection of Homeland Birds” and public organization “Village Holidays”.
