The Birth of Belarusian Cultural National Autonomy in Serpuhovo

On the 18 of September in the assembly hall in the House of culture “Bolshevik” a founding conference of the Belarusian cultural national autonomy on the territory of Serpuhov region, Moscow oblast, Russian Federation, took place. Before the conference A.V. Shestun, the head of the Serpuhov Municipal Region, gave a speech. He pointed out that the event is very important and will strengthen the warm relationship of the two nations. Belarus and Serpuhov Region have strong ties, for example the symbol of the region is - Aurochs. Having wished a success to the autonomy Alexander Vecheslavovich gave the word to M.A. Andreev, the Minister of the Moscow Oblast. He said that Serpuhov region pays a lot of attention to the veterans who have done so much for the motherland and expressed his confidence in mutual celebration of the 65^th anniversary of their common Victory.

More than 20 veterans of the Serpuhov region, who took part in the military operation “Bagration” on the liberation of the republic, were awarded a medal founded by the President “65 Years of the Liberation of Belarus from fascist invaders”.

After the awarding ceremony the charter and regulation of the organization were discussed. A.V. Skripel was elected the chairman, 21 people constituted the Organizing Committee. On finishing the conference the local creative groups organized a concert for the guests, the performance had a distinguished Belarusian character.
