On the Day of Independence the Number of Crimes was twice lower

On the 3d of July in Belarus there were two times fewer crimes than on any other day in average. The statement was made during the press conference by Alexander Barsukov the first deputy of the head of the MVD department for law and order maintenance and crime prevention.

“On the whole the arrangements undertaken were peaceful. All the registered penal offences were detected” – he pointed out, making the analyses of the work of the structural MVD departments during the festive arrangements of the Day of Independence.

Concerning administrative offences, Alexander Barsukov added, the police was maximum loyal. “Only three persons were taken to medical sobering-up centers, as there were no relatives or friends around to help.” – he said.

He mentioned that during the festive events a reinforced variant of services were performed by 15 thousands of MVD employees, among them 4 thousands in Minsk. In the celebration more than 1 million of citizens took part, around 300 thousands in Minsk.
