“Rosoboronexport” about prospects for Belarusian-Russian military and technical cooperation

Belarus and Russia are actively developing cooperation in military and technical sphere, reported head of “Rosoboronexport” department Valeri Varlamov at the press conference dedicated to the international defense exhibit MILEX-2009 that is scheduled for May 19th.

“Russian-Belarusian military and technical cooperation is being developed in many areas. A typical example of joint Russian-Belarusian production is an upgraded anti-aircraft missile complex “Pechora 2M,” he noted.

Belarus is a traditional Russia’s supplier of automated control systems, automotive engineering and many other items of production. Besides that, the Russian Federation and Belarus are successfully fulfilling the agreement on interplant cooperation which enables the two countries’ defense enterprises actively cooperate in such areas as aircraft construction, development and production of air defense systems.

Valeri Varlamov informed that more than 90 Belarusian and Russian enterprises as well as companies from 10 other countries will be represented the exhibition MILEX-2009. Compared to the previous exhibit, the number of participants is half again as many.
