Informal Summit of CSTO Heads of States to Take Place in Kyrgyzstan

An informal summit meeting of the Heads of CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) member states will be held in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) from 31st July to 2nd August, 2009. During the summit the heads of states will exchange opinions on topical problems of international security, discuss some aspects of organization’s activity as well as the increase of its effectiveness.

An informal summit meeting of the Heads of CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) member states will be held in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan) from 31st July to 2nd August, 2009. During the summit the heads of states will exchange opinions on topical problems of international security, discuss some aspects of organization’s activity as well as the increase of its effectiveness.

They will also exchange their views on global international problems such as: improvement of architecture of European security, global financial crisis, measures taken to counteract it, post-conflict development of Afghanistan and other problems in current international relations.

According to the agenda the participants will hear the report of the CSTO Secretary General about the approaches and actions aimed at forming a coordinated information policy of CSTO member states.
