U.N.O. Invests about $500 Million in Implementation of Framework Programme in Belarus

The UN is to invest about 500 million dollars in the implementation of the Framework Programme in Belarus, said Head of the Department for Cooperation with International Organizations and Coordination of Technical Assistance under the Ministry of Economy of Belarus Ivan Belchik at the press conference on October 21st.

According to him, the amount of finance for UN Framework Programme projects aimed to render development assistance to the Republic of Belarus in 2011-2015 will total 490 million dollars. The main donors are the European Commission and UN agencies.

Ivan Belchik also added that over the last 5 years international organizations have financed some programmes in Belarus to the sum of more than $250 million, of which 145 million dollars has already been exploited.
