Slovakia is for cheaper Schengen Visa for Belarusian people. That was reported by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Belarus Marian Servatka. “Being the Ambassador in the Slovak Republic I agitate for cutting the price of this tariff by half and at the same time for maintaining the Schengen zone standards. Slovakia will support the cutting of the price of the visas for Belarusian people. But that is to be approved by all EU members”, - pointed out the diplomat. According to him the current price makes up 60 Euro and is high for an ordinary citizen. Reducing of the price “would be a present and welcoming move towards Belarusian citizens from EU”, - he believes.
According to Marian Servatki, annually Slavakia sees about 8 thousand of Belarusians. At the same time the government takes pains to make everything possible so that more people from Belarus could visit the country. In particular last year the Embassy granted 1,2 thousand free visas to the children, directed to Slovakia for health improvement, as well as students and teachers, artists, sportsmen, professors, journalists and musicians. This year the country issued 800 free visas.
“It is the time there we live trying to get closer to each other and to comprehend each other. Belarus knows a little of Slovakia and vise verse. We should make everything possible for citizens of the both countries to meet”, - sais the diplomat.
