Belarus and Russia are starting to understand each other on issues of electricity exports

Once again the focus of the meeting between major energy ministers of Belarus and Russia was the issues of Belarusian-Russian expanding cooperation in the energy sector.

The parties held another round of consultations on the harmonization of the draft intergovernmental agreement on measures to ensure the parallel operation of the Unified Energy System of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

The outcome of the Moscow meeting was the rapprochement of the parties to establish a joint Russian-Belarusian enterprises to develop export of electricity. In this case, the ministers agreed to intensify work on preparation for signing the necessary documents for the construction of nuclear power plant in Belarus.
