Talking to journalists Aleksey Kudrin, Russia’s Vice-Premier and Minister of Finance, said that Russia would make a decision about allocating a credit for construction of the nuclear power plant (NPP) within the next few months.

He also noted that at the Ministry of Finance there still remained a request for a $500-million credit within the framework of an earlier opened line of credit. Here A.Kudrin noted that he had offered Belarus’ government to delegate the issuing of that credit to the anti-recessionary fund of EurAsEC. According to him, the means for granting this credit were not built into the budget of the Russian Federation for the year 2009.

“When anti-recessionary fund of EurAsEC starts functioning, Belarus will have the right to apply to it,” he said.

On November 23rd, President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev said that Russia was considering the possibility to grant commercial credits to Belarus. “At present we are examining the possibility to provide an additional set of commercial credits to Belarus,” said Dmitri Medvedev talking to Belarusian journalists.
