Russia and Belarus consider the policy of intimidation unacceptable

Russia and Belarus are sending a firm signal to everyone that the policy of intimidation is unacceptable, said chief editor of the journal “Belaruskaya Dumka” Vadim Gigin on TV channel “Belarus 1”, commenting upon the joint statement of the Presidents of Belarus and Russia regarding sanctions imposed by the U.S. and the European Union.

“On the whole, it is a new stage of geopolitical relations on the post- Soviet area. Together with Belarus, Russia is making it very clear and unambiguous that the policy pursued by the U.S. and the EU, the policy of intimidation is unacceptable in the modern world. It is yesterday’s logic,” said Vadim Gigin.

“Unfortunately, in recent years our western neighbours have been continually trying to prompt the ways of our further development, both political and economic. In my opinion, it is totally unacceptable in relation to a sovereign, independent country. The means of ultimatums, sanctions and restrictions lead nowhere,” said deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Sergey Semashko.
