The development of Belarusian-Russian interregional cooperation will be promoted from the Union budget, said Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Albert Stepanov during Moscow session of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly, reports BelTA.

He informed that the Standing Committee of the Union State had already begun drawing up Union budget-2013. According to him, it will include a new special-purpose expense item for the development of interregional cooperation.

During the session Union parliamentarians approved a draft Decree of the Union State Supreme Council, which amends the budget of the Union State-2011. According to Albert Stepanov, last year they managed to obtain additional financing of RUB 149 million out of the proceeds of target cash balance from previous years. Now, these expenses need to be approved by law.

In 2011 the funds mentioned were used to finance three joint programmes, including production of polymeric and composite materials, development of next-generation semiconductor heterostructures and devices based on them as well as creation of advanced technologies and equipment to produce biologically high-grade all-mash.
