V.Reznik: Supervisory bodies of Belarus and Russia should reduce the time they spend examining the documents on Union budget execution (video)

The time control bodies of Belarus and Russia spend to examine the documents and reports on implementation of the Union State budget should be reduced. Such a wish on behalf of all Union parliamentarians was expressed by Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Budget and Finance Vladislav Reznik. During the session of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly he made a report on execution of the Union budget in 2010.

“In fact, we are following an established procedure for considering the report (on budget implementation in 2010). However, it gives rise to an obvious question – why so late? Our common opinion is that the time the supervisory bodies spend on checking reports should be reduced, as, in addition, they are now considering a draft budget (for 2013) as well as making quarterly audit of budget performance,” he said.

The parliamentarian said that the control authorities represented by Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Accounts Viktor Stepashin had assumed a commitment to meet the wishes of parliamentarians.

Vladislav Reznik also added that if supervisory bodies shortened the check-up time, the report on implementation of the current Union State budget could be considered at the next session of the Parliamentary Assembly scheduled for the autumn of the following year, rather than in two years.
