L.Ermoshina: “2009 is not an elective year but a very difficult one”

In the current year an active work over the preparation for the elections to the local Councils of deputies scheduled for the end of 2010 and presidential elections scheduled for the beginning of 2011 lies ahead. It is planned to decide whether the organization of the two election campaigns will be done at the same time or separately.

Today the manual for the coming elections is being worked out and there is a work over the cost estimation that is to be submitted to the Ministry of finances of Belarus till the end of May, 2009.

Besides, according to L.Ermoshina, the dialogue with the OSCE ODIHR expert group about the issues concerning electoral legislation improvement continues. There is an agreement reached in this sphere and appropriate proposals and agreements are considered, clarified the head of the CEC.

As far as such sphere of CEC work as observation is concerned, the question of the participation of Belarusian commission in parliamentary elections in Moldova scheduled for April, 2009 is also under consideration.
