Vladimir Putin: Modern Russia is Open Peaceful Democratic State

Modern Russian is an open peaceful and democratic state, - claimed the Russian President Vladimir Putin during a gala performance on the occasion of the Day of the Defender of the Motherland. “We are not threatening anybody and we are not going to act from the positions of power. We don’t need to impose will on other peoples”, – emphasized the head of the Russian state.

Mr. Putin noted that still there are many alarming challenges and threats in the modern world. That’s why the huge military potential of the Russian army remains a crucial guarantee both of national security and Russia’s progressive development, and, on the global scale, it is a considerable factor of international stability. Vladimir Putin also assured the audience that Russia will not let anyone involve it into the armaments race. At the same time adequate answers will be found in the area of developing military infrastructure around the country and to potential threats to its security.
