On February 12th State Secretary of the Union State G.Rapota met with the lineup of the Belarusian State Ensemble “Pesniyary”. In the studio of “Pesnyary” G.Rapota had a conversation with the musicians and looked round the facilities for ensemble’s rehearsals.

“Pesnyary” performed several songs, while creative director V.Sharapov presented the State Secretary with a lyre.

G.Rapota, State Secretary of the Union State:

- Cultural cooperation is important for people. Culture plays a very important role in the development of nations. The Union State holds a variety of cultural activities. The most spectacular of them is the arts festival “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.

Right now we are conducting negotiations on putting up a monument to V.Mulyavin in Yekaterinburg. I spoke to the governor about this, and he promised to give every assistance.

I am planning to spend April 2nd – the Unity Day of Peoples of Belarus and Russia – in Minsk and I invite “Pesnyary” to take an active part in the celebration.

S.Maevsky, director of the Belarusian State Ensemble “Pesnyary”:

- Last year “Pesniary” gave more than 30 concerts on the territory of the Russian Federation only. We have a lot of plans but I will tell just about the biggest ones. We want to make a film. It is going to be a musical-romantic tale with some pieces of love and fantasy.
