320 veterans to improve their health at Belarusian health resorts using Union State budget funds

It is planned that in 2013 more than 320 disabled war veterans and war veterans of the Great Patriotic War will improve their health at Belarusian health resorts. Parechie, Zhuravushka and Sosnovy Bor health resorts are to welcome 100 veterans.

In 2012, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus, 1,199 disabled war veterans and war veterans of the Great Patriotic War took a course of sanatorium-and-spa treatment. 306 disabled war veterans and war veterans of the Great Patriotic War received sanatorium vouchers from the Union State budget.

“In our country war veterans get all the possible kinds of social support,” said Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus Alexander Rumak.

According to him, in Belarus there are now 25.3 thousand veterans of the Great Patriotic War. They are provided with social protection within the framework of the Integrated Programme for the Development of Social Services in 2011-2015. In all settlements social workers examine living conditions of veterans. Veterans are provided with free medicines and technical means of social rehabilitation. In the 1st quarter of 2013 commissions surveyed more than 161.5 thousand people. More than 1.9 thousand people were helped to repair apartments, houses, outbuildings and other equipment.
