Jury Announces Winners of Youth Song Contest within V Festival “Youth – For the Union State”

The V festival “Youth – For the Union State” held in Rostov-on-Don has come to an end. According to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State, on September 18th and 19th the festival hosted an international contest of youth songs. The contest helps to find fresh talents, gives young artists an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, gain self-confidence and willingness to achieve new goals.

The V festival “Youth – For the Union State” held in Rostov-on-Don has come to an end. According to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State, on September 18th and 19th the festival hosted an international contest of youth songs. The contest helps to find fresh talents, gives young artists an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, gain self-confidence and willingness to achieve new goals.

The organizers of the contest received a large number of applications. Over 15 creative teams took part in it. These are young people aged from 16 to 25: soloists, composers-performers and duets from different regions of Belarus and Russia, including Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, Kirov, Chita, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Rostov-on-Don and Rostov region, Chelyabinsk, Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, as well as Grodno, Minsk and Minsk region, Bobruisk, and others.

The performance of the contestants was judged by the professional jury consisting of composers, famous performers and songwriters from Belarus and Russia.

On September 21st at the gala concert dedicated to the closing of the festival, the jury announced the winners. According to the results of the youth song contest, Aliona Lanskaya from Minsk and Tamara Kutidze from Podolsk became First Prize Laureates. Second Prize Laureates were group “Impulse” from town Shakhty in Rostov region and Nikita Fominykh from Minsk. Yana Rusinova (St. Petersburg), Yan Kot (Grodno), Zhenya Verenich (Luninets) became Third Prize Laureates. The Laureates of the contest were awarded with diplomas and special prizes.

Moreover, the jury has instituted special prizes. The special prize “Poetry of Heart” was presented to Alexander Ivanov from Ulyanovsk. The special prize “For Loyalty to Tradition” went to Olga Satsura from Minsk. Olga Nokard (Minsk) won the special prize “National Brotherhood”, while Christina Belan (Minsk) received the special prize “Promise”.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Committee on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Issues Viktor Vodolatski presented the prizes from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State to the best performer from the Republic of Belarus – Aliona Lanskaya (Minsk) and to the best performer from the Russian Federation – Tamara Kutidze (Podolsk).

The winners of the contest took part in the final Gala Concert along with other festival participants, variety artists from Belarus and Russia.
