Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan discussed at FCS Board meeting

On April, 29 there was a Russian FCS Board meeting where the steps towards formation of Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan customs union and the issues of trade restrictions and currency exchange regulation have been discussed. That was reported by Russian customs department press-service.

On April, 29 there was a Russian FCS Board meeting where the steps towards formation of Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan customs union and the issues of trade restrictions and currency exchange regulation have been discussed. That was reported by Russian customs department press-service.

The activities of the Board are coordinated by the head of the Federal Customs Service Andrei Belyaninov and Belarusian side is represented by the chairman of SCC of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Schpilevski.

The head of the Russian customs department said that in the work over the formation of customs union they follow the principles of the Russian Federation foreign policy Concept approved by President of the Russian Federation D.Medvedev on July, 12, 2008.

Russian FCS Board discussed the creation of Coordinating council for the heads of customs agencies (supranational board body), adoption of the Customs Union Code, changes in Customs Code of the Russian Federation, the functions of the Customs union Commission in the field of customs and tariff and nontariff regulation of foreign trade activities, international agreement project on institution of criminal procedures and administrative responsibility for crimes and violations, activities on information system development, methodology of foreign trade and mutual trade statistics as well as other urgent aims of customs administration organization within the scopes of customs union.

The Board also made decision to develop the concept that will specify the long-term (till 2020) steps of customs bodies in solving the strategical problems defined by the state government in order to increase the efficiency of customs control in the sphere of trade restrictions and currency exchange regulation and to resist the treats to economic security of the state.
