Round table named “Belarus and our common Victory. 65 years after. Modern view” took place in the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Russian Federation

Modern view” that took place in Moscow.

According to him, common historic past is the guarantee that even certain disagreements that happen from time to time between Belarus and Russia will not do any harm to the process of integration. “Officials are only a temporary phenomenon and peoples with their historic connections and spiritual ties are not the subject to political situation, - underlined Vasili Dolgolev. – And thus I am sure that everything in the relations between our countries that concerns both short and long term perspectives will be all right”.

The Ambassador pointed out that Union State and its military basis is the conspicuous evidence of political power of both states being able to learn the lessons of history and provide peaceful life for the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

The main topic of the round table was the contribution of Belarus into the common victory in the Great Patriotic War. Vasili Dolgolev said it is very pleasant that the event raised such a large interest among representatives of Mass Media.

Prominent commanders and historians, heads of the memorial complex “Brest hero fortress” and Belarusian museum of history of Great Patriotic war, representatives of Ministers of Defense of Belarus and Russia, scientific establishments, veteran and social organizations took part in the meeting. They considered topical aspects of studying and immortalization of the history of Great Patriotic war and the use of historic heritage in patriotic education of young generation.
