Igor Ugolnikov: shooting of the film “Brest Fortress” is up to schedule

On the basis of literary script the screen script and production schedule of the film were developed. The audition, the casting sessions for supportive roles and mob scenes took place. The main and supportive actors were defined; the film crew was formed.

By the time the director’s designing, the preparation period and the period of decorations development have already been completed. The shooting period has started and is going on in accordance with the schedule.

On the territory of the Brest Fortress by the common effort of Belarusian and Russian parts the unique decorations were built: Kholmsky Gates, a bridge, barracks, a club, the walls of the fortress etc.

The main shooting period started on the 5th of July. At present more than 60% of the will be used materials is completed. At the same time the post production stage is started.

The financing of the project is organized according to the payment schedule confirmed in budget spending report of the Union State by the Permanent Committee of the Union State. The total sum figures 222 213,1 thousand rubles.

“However it is already clear that the shooting period will require more financing that it has been planed. This is connected first of all with the additional expenses on the decoration on the territory of the memorial complex in Brest and the considerable shift in the exchange rates. The final sum of the over expenditure on the shooting period will be defined only on its completion at the end of October. However it is already clear that the over expenditure won’t exceed 10% of the budget” Igor Ugolnikov explained. “The pattern is a norm in the word of film production” – he added.

In the case in order not to exceed the defined limits of the budged it will be necessary to shrink expenses on computer graphics and sound design. The circumstances won’t influence however the dates of film release. But for the distribution of the film in cinemas (planed for 22nd of June 2012) the Broadcasting Organization will ask the Permanent Committee of the Union State to apply to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia (ALAB) for the financing of the additional computer graphics, sound design and promotion of the film.
