Parliamentary Elections in Belarus: Maximum Transparency

“So far all our requests to Belarus have been complied with, including those addressed to the Government,” said H.Arens, Head of the Observer Mission from OSCE Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Bureau at the parliamentary elections in Belarus.

“So far all our requests to Belarus have been complied with, including those addressed to the Government,” said H.Arens, Head of the Observer Mission from OSCE Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Bureau at the parliamentary elections in Belarus.

According to him, all the licensing and accreditation documents that are necessary for the work of OSCE DIHRB observers were received without any trouble.

“We hope that all the work we are to do will be continued in the same spirit,” noted the diplomat. He also expressed hope that the members of his mission will have an opportunity to meet all candidates, representatives of all political parties and any representatives of civil society as well as that Belarusian authorities will make it possible to travel around the country freely and visit any polling stations without preliminary notice.

Besides that, H.Arens hopes that the Observer Mission from OSCE DIHRB will be able to visit not only all without exception polling stations but also the places of counting of votes and further evaluation of election results.

He also believes that at the end of elections his Mission will be able to make an official statement without any difficulty.
