President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko Sent a Message to President of the Russian Federation Alexander Medvedev

On August 28th Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, sent a message to Alexander Medvedev, the President of the Russian Federation, in which it is noted that the circumstances were such that Russia had no other moral choice but to second the appeal of South Ossetian as well as Abkhazian people to recognize their right to self-determination as provided by fundamental international documents.

On August 28th Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, sent a message to Alexander Medvedev, the President of the Russian Federation, in which it is noted that the circumstances were such that Russia had no other moral choice but to second the appeal of South Ossetian as well as Abkhazian people to recognize their right to self-determination as provided by fundamental international documents.

Moreover, the Head of Belarusian state believes that this problem should be submitted for consideration of CSTO Collective Security Council which is scheduled for September 5th, 2008 and that the member states should take a consolidated stand.

The President assured that the Republic of Belarus will remain a reliable and staunch ally of Russia.
