Union State Parliamentarians Adopted Budget-2009 at First Reading

On October 16th at the first meeting of the 34th session the deputies of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly adopted next year’s budget of the Union State at the first reading. As is reported by the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly, the revenue and expenditure will total RUB 4 872 000.0 thousand. Budget revenues are formed with reconciled assessments of the member states. The assessments of the Russian Federation make RUB 3 167000.0 thousand while Belarusian ones total RUB 1 705 000 thousand.

The revenue of the Union State draft budget-2009 includes financial backing of 42 programmes, subprogrammes and activities. Draft budget of the Union State in the year 2009 provides for the following areas of on-budget expenditures: industry, energy sector, construction, transport, communications and information technology – 29%; military and technical cooperation, law enforcement activity and security of the Union State – 35%; elimination of emergency situations and environmental protection – 5.9%; social policy, public health and physical culture, education, culture, mass media – 12% and others.

Now the budget of the Union State is to be finalized at the meeting of the Conciliation Commission and adopted at the second reading during the second meeting of the 34^th Parliamentary Assembly session which is scheduled to take place in Moscow on 17^th October.
